What a remarkable trip. My mother and I are so grateful to have had the opportunity to join the Competitours force. It was very reminiscient of 'The Amazing Race, but with a fraction of the stress.

While I might forget exactly where we were and when, I will never forget the life-learning journey and friends I have met. This was a very special trip for me!

We had a wonderful time, made some great new friends and had one of the best trips ever in what more could you want. All in all, I really like all the rest of the teams and had a blast on this trip, so if you are reading this - know that it is totally worth it!

We have really enjoyed meeting our fellow competitours with whom we share a trait in common: a craving to experience new adventure. We have made new friends with all of the competitours who are an exceptional group of people and with whom we hope to intersect again in our travels.

But our favorite part of the trip were our fellow Competitours. It’s interesting what happens when you travel for a week with a bunch of people who start out as strangers. Verrrrrry interesting - and very rewarding as wonderful new friendships form.

Our adrenalin levels were so high, we never felt tired. Each night, we couldn’t wait to read the handouts and find out what country we would be going to the next day. At breakfast, we would trade funny stories. At the bar late in the day, we would howl at each other’s videos. And we were surprised how much fun we had interacting with so many people as we accomplished our challenges.

Competitours pushes two people to use their own skills, whether its figuring out the subway system or talking to local people. The ideas that you don't know where you are going next, that really appealed to me.

XXXXX was a perfect example of one the things that Competititours has to offer - a place most people don't know and would unlikely visit on their own, but will be very glad they did! The distillery in XXXXX was a geat example of how to turn a touristy destination into something different and fun.

Dealing with locals - it can be a rewarding experience for all concerned if the stars are aligned right and its handled properly. I must admit, these turned out to be some of the most fun challenges and experiences.

I was lured to participate by the obstacles that have to be overcome and the ability to switch modes of travel... and the problem-solving aspects.

The competition elevated the typical tourist experience from observer to participant. It was neat to have a reason to talk to local people in the cities we visited.

(We) finished with a win for the trip, which was great, but it wasn't the real 'win' in this game. It was the opportunity to participate in something entirely new, meeting people who are rather like-minded and 'touring' places we never would have seen before, all while documenting everything with video and photos . That's where we won. Thanks Steve for such a great experience!

Your mind will be stimulated, challenged, perplexed and ultimately invigorated by the daily plotting, scheming and strategic decision making, proclaims the Competitours website, and indeed the 11 teams I'm following are visibly excited proof of that.

To whom would we recommend this trip? People who are high energy, competitive, focused... I don't think age is a factor now that I've done it. I originally thought that the trip should be for younger people, but we didn't feel rushed. The real shocker is that we didn't come in close to last place. We are proud of our standing among our much younger peers.

The motivation for us is not to win the first place prize (although that would be just fine!); rather, the reward is the whole experience of the trip (its the journey not the destination).

We fought until the end and I was proud of us pushing ourselves to the very, very end and maxing out our points. Both creative thinking and physical endurance-wise, we pushed ourselves to the hilt. Competitours is probably something everyone should do at least once.

This trip has been the best experience of my life thus far. You provided my mother and I with a rollercoaster that we never wanted to end. You did a commendable job. Every destination had something to offer and the array of challenges suitable to anybody.
